Christchurch International Airport
Christchurch International Airport is the South Island's main airport and has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment. Whilst it is an important domestic hub, Christchurch International Airport is also the world's gateway to Canterbury and the rest of the stunning South Island of New Zealand.
Located just a 15-20 minute drive from the Christchurch CBD, the airport has regular international services from Air Asia, Air New Zealand, Air Pacific, JetStar, Qantas Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Virgin Australia, and Emirates.
Air New Zealand also operates domestic services from Christchurch to regional airports around New Zealand.
In addition to duty free shopping, there are also a number of specialty stores for your shopping pleasure, as well as a pharmacy, banking facilities and post shop. A selection of cafes is also available.
Christchurch International Airport provides complimentary car parking for the first 10 minutes, and charges apply after that. A number of transport operators run regular shuttle services to and from the airport.
Travellers intending to visit New Zealand should visit the New Zealand Customs website as New Zealand has very strict import restrictions, particularly for agricultural items and recreational drugs.
